I placed an online order of 4 Peacock Cichlids and they were amazing. I was shocked the rich coloring in the male Red Shoulder I ordered, very impressed with him. I will do business with them again, for sure. They packed them with care, also impressed with their vigor on arrival. I was pleased with their shipping charges as well.

I have been e-mailing them in prep for a purchase for about a month (my tank was going though a fishless cycle). Was discussing my future purchase and availablility of stock. Just one week before my tank became ready they had a sale (25% off), and by the time my cycle finished the sale was over. I told Josh "too bad I missed your sale" but still wanted the fish. He told me not to worry and gave me the sale price anyway. Well, my fish finally arrived. The fish were a little bigger then I expected (a good thing), and all came in healthy. They have been in the tank for 2 days now and are already eatting (another good thing). I will soon be setting up my next tank and I will be ordering from them again. Good Experience.

I have placed 6 orders with Live Fish Direct and they have all been fantastic. Josh and his team have taken great care of me, and the fish quality is supreme. I recently ordered some cichlids from these guys. There was a slight issue with inventory quantities and I was unable to get 2 out of the 4 species that I had ordered. Josh called me and we worked out an optional solution, which I was happy with. I ordered 2 Demasoni, 2 Blueberry OB Zebras, 1 OB Peacock, and 1 Livingstonii, I was able to get 3 of the smaller Demasoni to make up for the 2 larger ones they were out of, and I switched over the Blueberry OB's for regular OB Peacocks, and they threw in an extra Livingstonii.The fish came in great health and actually adjusted to my tank very fast, up and eating the 2nd day. Overall very happy with my experience and will be buying more in the future. Wish they had a better selection of Plecos, but they are a cichlid farm so it makes sense...The only suggestion I would have would be to have free shipping if you spend a certain amount of money, similar to Tropicalimperials.com

I have always bought locally and never even considered ordering online out of concern that I would not get quality fish that I hand picked.Sadly, variety is not something my neck of the woods specializes in so I needed another avenue. Well first let me start by saying Hello to everyone this is my first post on this forum the name is Ron.

I have been in the African Cichlid hobby for well over 25 yrs, I have always hand picked my fish locally. The stock here has been a little lack luster over the last five years or extremely overpriced (Wet Spot) aka Cichlid Exchange.........So I decided to try my first mail order. I war rather reluctant as Josh and Brian will contest at Live fish Direct......But I finally bit the bullet and placed an order, I will have to say that these two guys really got put through the ringer with me and not one time did they get frustrated in the slightest. I received my order today and I have to say I am extremely pleased and impressed with how these guys do business and treat even a pain in the A$$ like me. The fish where outstanding, the packaging was top notch and the fear of spending $ to only find junk or death was discarded with this shipment. I would highly recommend these guys and will buy again in a NY Second. If this is how every shipment comes from these guys I wont have to spend countless hrs searching every store over a 200 mile radius ever again!!!

Update received 3 more shipments from these guys, great prices, Great CS and great quality. These guys are A+ in my book!

This is the only place I've ordered fish online from, and was very happy and impressed with the packaging and the quality of the fish I received. Enough to order two more times. My local fish stores don't have anything near as nice, and the prices are much better from livefishdirect.com. Josh is helpful and friendly. Just placed another order and cannot wait to see what comes in!

Everything about my experience with LFD exceeded my expectations. The initial variety to choose from was great, the quality of the fish that I received was remarkable, and consistent with how they were described on the website. The customer service and attention to detail made you feel as if your satisfaction was very important to them. Even when things didn't go exactly as planned I was left feeling like my happiness mattered. When one of the fish I wanted was not available, they asked me if I would like something else as a replacement, I decided on a replacement that was slightly less expensive than the original choice, not only was the replacement great, they threw in a beautiful supplemental fish at no cost to make things right. This is the first of many future dealings as this is now the only on line retailer I will be using.

Fish arrived in perfect condition, as expected. I've completely stocked 2 tanks with only LFD fish and will continue to do so. The fish I received were exactly what I ordered, down to the inch. Tracking # is sent to you the second Fedex picks it up so you know where your fish are at all times. Fish were shipped from Utah all the way up to northern NH in WELL under 24 hours.
