"Average Undergravel Filter"
This Undergravel filter is average at best. The flow is not evenly distributed like it is with the Perfecto and undertow deluxe lines where the holes become smaller as they get closer to the lift tubes. Overall a decent undergravel filter. Just keep it well vacuumed!

"If you go undegravel, this filter is a good choice"
Most people don't use undergravel filters anymore, but the truth is that this is the single most cost effective filtration method. If you're going to use undergravel filter, this one will work well. I've actually noticed an increase in water quality after switching to undergravel with a powerhead, instead of the traditional hang on type.I also haven't lost one fish since.

"OUT DATED"
This type of filter is so out dated its just a waste of time and money.

This type filter traps to much gunk under it and that leads to high ammonia and dead fish

"Easy, no hassle, forget-it's-there operation"
Very well thought out design. Albeit a very simple product, it's dimensions and construction allow for airlift operation, powerhead operation, and it is very durable (had mine on a 10gal for over 10 years now) the lift tube has yellowed a bit, but you can find replacements for almost nothing almost anywhere...
