"best for trophs!"
you would be very hard pressed to find a flake with lower protien then 28% which is what this stuff has, very good ingredients, and sirilina is #1 ingredient. always use it, trophs devour it - never got bloat, ever.

"Excellent for for Trops and mid sized herbivores"
I like this food a lot. I dont have many Africans that dont love this stuff. Its my staple for Tropheus and most of my other Tangs. Even my carnivores will eat it and thrive.

I got it from Jehmco in bulk.

Like all flake foods, because of the waste factor, it's hard to keep larger Cichlids fed, so for them I use a pellet.

"There are better options"
PROS - You get alot for the money. Good ingredients.

CONS - Bought the big "Veggie 8" can from bigals and ended up with mostly very small flakes. Very dissapointing. I had to use a spaghetti strainer to sift through all the dust and little #%$& to get usable flake.
As for the mbuna, well... they were not dashing around and hitting the food hard as usual, just kinda pecking at it and crawling away with disintrest. If you wanna see how total disgust is displayed in peacocks/haps, then try feeding them this cockapoopoopeepeecrap.

*Nutrafin Max Spirulina: WAY better, Omega Super Kelp: much better, Ocean Nutrition Veggie: better

"Good but there is better"
.....they will attack it much faster then Omega One spirulina or Omega one cichlid flake......the HBH flake is not flimsy and will not cloud your water....the fish do a good number on this food......I found the hagen flake with 35% spirulina far superior to this flake anyday

"Now called HBH 8 Veggie Flakes"
It appears that the name of this product has changed to HBH 8 Veggie Flakes. I ordered a can from BigAls based on the great ingredients and the ratings here. No complaints about the ingredients but was very disappointed to find that the flakes are mostly broken up. Might have been the shipping . . .

"Good enough for me....."
Well, my fish loved it!

...it has quality ingredients, and the fish really did seem to prefer it over other similar flakes.

"Quality spurlina based flake food"
I heard about HBH brand foods from a breeder in my area that swore by it. One of the better spurlina based foods on the market.

"Great food for grazers"
This is an excellent food filled with more greens then just Spirulina. The cost is a bit steep, but the product is excellent.

"Fish seem to love it"
I've been using this to supplement the regular diet of my non-veggie fish. They seem to enjoy it.

"My Mbuna love it"
I bought it in a two pound bag which meant it would need to be frozen and I was concerned that it would get freezer burn. But I followed the directions on how to store it and the quality has been great.

"Great daily staple for herbivores!"
Tropheus do well on this flake, growth & coloration is very good. Contains enough fish meal and other fish products to recommend for fishes housed w/ herbivores that require a bit more protein. Very consistant product and when buying from Jehmco, an excellent value as well!
