Cichlid sticks provide medium to large, top-feeding cichlids the hearty diet and nutritional requirements they need. The sticks float on water for easy access.
Ideal for such favorites as firemouths and convicts. Large freshwater and marine fish also feed well and get nutritional requirements from this floating diet. Enhanced with vitamin C and the patented, health enhancing ProCare blend from TetraMin®.
Available in 2.64 oz, 5.65 oz, and 11.3 oz cans, and a 6.61 lbs bucket.
Its a very messy pellet. Used it a couple of times, but when the fish spit it back out, it gets everywhere, and usually gets sucked into the filter, eventually making the tank cloudy. I've stopped using it. Stick with hikari.
Way too much food is wasted as it is expelled from the fishes' gills. This stuff is too crumbly. Much better foods have been formulated since this stuff was invented. Back in the day, this was about all there was, but we have more and better choices now.
I cant tell if my cichlids are consuming it at all... all my cichlids are in the 4"-7" range and every one swallows it and expels an enormous cloud of debris immediately. Always clouds my normally crystal clear water.
As others have noted, Cichlid Sticks can be messy but my fish go absolutely nuts for them. Not just my Cichlids but all the fish in the tank, especially my Pictus Cat who seems to enjoy cleaning up any mess. As soon as my Convicts see me grab that red container they go into a frenzy!
I've used this food for about a year and havent really switched to anything else because my cichlids are so used to it. I have no problems with color and the "mess" isnt too bad for me since all my fish are 3+" and i have 2 7+" pleco's but my fish love it, its just kinda expensive at 7.95 a pop.
it's ok my oscar like it but it doesn't float for very long it sinks in about 5 seconds... so he's scavaging it off the bottom
has used this product for 3-12 Months.

"If the cichlids like it..."
I use this as a supplement for some of my new world cichlids. My rivulatus especially likes to hit these. It does seem to be a bit messier compared to other brands, but the barbs in the tank eat the leftovers.
