Controls the growth of many algae in large aquariums, koi and goldfish ponds, and fountains containing fish. Many ornamental ponds, fountains, and aquariums experience occasional algae blooms. Green (Chlorophyta) and blue-green (Cyanophyta) algae can appear as a fine coating on rocks and liners, or as tufts of “beard algae." Fountains and waterfalls can become clogged with mats of stringy “hair algae." Single-celled algae cause unsightly "green water" blooms. Algae Destroyer Liquid will control many types of undesirable algae growth in ornamental fish ponds, fountains and large aquariums. When the active ingredient in Algae Destroyer Liquid is absorbed through algal cell walls, it Interrupts normal cell metabolism and causes the algae to die, These products provide effective treatment for existing algae blooms when used regularly.
Note: Filtration with activated carbon will remove Algae Destroyer Liquid from aquarium water.
Available in liquid or tablet form. PRECAUTION: Algae Destroyer Liquid will injure aquatic plants.
I bought this to clear my green water and it worked quickly, added the stuff walked away, came back later the water was crystal clear, I think that 25 drops per 10 gallons is a bit much though, wish there was a way they could have reduced it to maybe a drop per gallon, but i have only had to use it once so far
i'v used this product several times and it always does a great job, if you shake it long enough. if you do, you don't get any clumps and it kills algea on the first use. my recomendation though is to only use it if you absoultly have to.
Over time Destroyer losses it homogenity and the white lumps in the fluid become worse. It takes a long time to assimilate into tank water and fish always seem to ingest strands of the substance. This product is an effective preventative and a mediocre remedy. AP has always put out great products at an EXCELLENT value but Destroyer is, in my opinion, the weakest product in their lineup.
