Love this food for my mbunas, I break it up and soak it for 2 minutes then serve it. Doesnt disintegrate when I soak, nor clouds the water. If my fish could talk, they would thank me!!!
I would soak this pellet for 10 minutes or so before feeding. The fish like it and I count 3 to 4 sticks per fish and that is all I feed at one time.
Something interesting to note is that the water I use to soak them in turns BLUE. Its just water form the tank. Is this a natural characteristic of spirulina?
This pellet is especially good for Mbuna, large or small. Either way pellet is best when soaked until it softens. Large fish will take it whole, you can break it up with fingers for smaller fish. Mbuna readily feed on this pellet, and lots of my friends feed this pellet are also very happy with it's results. Your fish will love you for it !!
I bought a small container of these hoping to try something new. I soak all my pellets so i soaked these too and noticed they puff up quite a lot. They also fall apart quite easily when soak and therefore messed up the water a bit more then i would have liked.
But all my fish seemed to like it and took to eating them right away.
Dont' think i'd buy them again as they broke apart too much when soaked and expanded too much when soaked for me to feel comfortable feding them dry.
most of my cichlids love this stuff, especially the larger ones and they seem to be alot more active since i started using this product, however, it is a bit pricey.
My Mbuna love these sticks. I break them into smaller pieces for the younger fish in the tank. This food keeps the water and tank clean. It is kind of expensive for the quantity. But the price won't deter me from buying this product.
i got these as a supplement to the other flakes and pellets i feed them. they do not seem to like it much. they will only eat it if i break it up into smaller peices, and do not get excited for it like other foods. i also have to soak it or they will not touch it. a friend of mine has had the same experience with it. not worth buying
I dont even soak these sticks my cichlids love to take them from the top of the water. Easy to feed and they love them.
Cichlid Dude has used this product for 3-12 Months.

"Pricey but popular"
I picked up a trial size to see if my cichlids would eat this stuff. I've read great reviews about how Spirulina seems to get the fish ready for breeding and that it helped in their overall appearance.
The fish accepted the sticks readily but were hesitant to get them off the surface. After finishing off the trial size I purchased an 8 oz bottle. For the past year they are fed a combination of Spirulina sticks with Hikari Complete and Gold.
The fish always seem to choose the Spirulina first....
Everyone has excellent colour and are thriving. While I intend on continuing to use the spirulina sticks, I will try out a cheaper alternative as the Nutrafin tends to be more expensive.
