Pump features noise-deadening cover, a base plate that prevents vibration or movement, a long wearing coil, unitized swing arm, and an integrated valve body. Provides adequate air to drive one air driven filter or undergravel filter airstone in small aquariums (up to 10 gallons). One year warranty.
Besides the fact that it is So loud...it's rubber legs that it stands on began to melt onto anything I placed it on...i put cardboard under it and it went through that over time... now I have black stains on my WHITE wall that it hung on...traded it in for a top fin...cheaper, more quiet...and much more powerful!! Avoid this brand pleaseee

I've had my Empire for about 7 years, they work very well, but are very loud and have a tendousy of moving across and off stuff. I've found that if you use a dry sponge they will stay still and i've got used to the loud sound after the years, but still works great even in a twenty gallon and still kicking without any mantince of repairs.
This pump drove me crazy for many years when I didnt know any better . It use to keep me awake and make this zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz sound . This by far is the worst for inside the house . In fact the only thing I would use it for is if you have a pond or tank outside that needs a cheap air pump.
For the price, they are very usable. The 800 and 801 are nifty little pumps that works well 24/7. Avoid the bigger pumps though. My 802 broke down after 3 months. The rubber damper on the pivot broke apart. Bad design.
This is the only air pump I've ever owned. After a year of tolerating the noise and vibrations, I came to cichlid-forum reviews to find out if A) I'm the only one and B) whether there are quieter brands out there (not only is this thing noisy, it "crawls" across my hardwood floor as it vibrates). Now that I've read the other reviews, I know I'm not crazy. Can't wait to "upgrade" to another brand!
Being in the room with one is like sitting in a vibrating chair. You'll never have to ask yourself if its working. It does have all the power that is sounds like it should, but I would only get another one now to give away to someone that I don't realy like.
Well, they are loud.. RRRRRRRRRRR. The only way to make it better is to wrap the whole thing in a t-shirt or two and throw it in a drawer- The diaphragms rip really often. Cheap to repair, cheap to buy-- I use them as egg tumblers.
this came with a tank kit i got a while back. it just sat there for months but i decided to hook an airstone up to it after taking one of my 3 ac's off for another tank. as soon as i plugged it in all i hear is VROOOOOOOOM!!!! it's very loud. i have to uplug it at night or it would keep me up. i would never pay money for it
