"Hasn't been a problem for me."
I have two of the standard Pro Heat 350's. Other then being a little touchy on the dial I've had no problems at all with them.....so far.

"NOT a good buy"
I had purchased three of these heaters for my fish tanks because the packaging on the outside stated it was one of the most accurate ones out there. This was true for about 6 months or so then all of a sudden all three of them stayed on and almost cooked my fish! I'm not sure if there is a short or something but for the same exact thing to happen to all three is quite disturbing. I tried contacting both the LFS and the company direct and they are unwilling to fix these for me... Not happy with there customer service or there product.. I would advise not to buy from them...

"Best heater money can buy!"
I bought a 350watt PROII 8 years ago when I had a 75 gallon reef. The heater kept my temp within .3 degrees consistently. I then put the heater away in storage for four years when I had to break down my tank and move. I have now set up my tank again with African Cichlids and the heater still works perfectly. The temp probe and the heating element actually have long enough cords, they can be placed far enough apart to make sure you are heating the tank evenly. The digital temp display is very helpful as well. This is by far the best heater I have ever owned.

"do not trust setting!!"
I bought the dial version 5 months ago after my Visi-Therm nearly cook my Tropheus. It worked perfectly until now. Temp swings 4-5 deg every day. I don't trust this POS anymore!!I should have read the reviews.

"Works great while it's still working."
This heater works great at first. It's accurate and easy to set. The problem is after about a year it went nuts and kept rising then lowering the temp. Then it just stuck on. After unplugging for a few hours it would work OK for a day then go nuts again. I replaced it with an AquaMedic titanium heater with controller

"Great for cooking fish"
Spent the extra money for one of these because of the external thermostat setting and the advertised ability to maintain +/- 1 degree. Woke up yesterday to a 115 degree tank (not 79 as it was set to) and an very expensive pile of African Cichlid (Tropheus + others) corpses. So much for the advertised short circuit overheat protection. I'm going back to an old dependable Eheim/Jager.

"Nice product until it broke"
I bought two Pro-Heat II (LCD) 150w about 18 months ago. Until a couple weeks ago, they've been great. The LCD readout is handy and the external temperature controller is easy to set. However, both units are now useless. One has a cracked probe and the other is displaying a temperature of 172. Sounds like a common problem with these. Neat concept, but I will never buy this brand again.

"I have really liked the heater"
I have the Won Brother Pro Heat, titanium heater and it has been very reliable for over a year now. The main thing that I don't like is the themostat dial is too easy to turn, if it is accidently bumped when doing anything with your wiring it can easily change the temperature setting. Never thought about just taping it in place like another poster wrote, but that would be a good idea.

"DO NOT BUY!!!!"
I wish I had read the reviews before I got mine a few months ago. Last night mine gave out. This morning, my two beautiful 10" fontosa died. Since others are having so much trouble from Won Bros., there is no need for me to do the same. The best I can do is prevent others from putting the lives of their fish in jepardy. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THESE HEATERS!

"Overpriced junk"
I bought four pro heat IIs 18 months ago and since then two of them have failed in the same way other raters have stated. The readouts on both went into the hundreds so the thermostat never turned on the heating element. For 50+ dollars I expect a quality product.

"Excellent heater while it lasted"
I bought the digital model (350w) for my new tank setup in Feb. 2005 and really liked its ease of use and accuracy- 3 days later it died on me. Something inside the digital unit that plugs in the wall started smoking and luckily I was home. I figured it was a fluke so I returned it to Won Brothers and they replaced it. The new unit worked great until November '05 when the digital readout displayed 240 degrees. Of course, my tank was not that hot but the heater would not turn itself on after that because it thought the water temp was high. Twice in less than 8 months is enough for me......

I bought a 350W pro-heat 2 which failed after 11 months. The problem is the same as others have had with the lcd progressivly reading higher and higher so that the heater never activates. I returned the unit with 2 weeks warantee left. It came back 2 weeks later with a note saying it was recalibrated. Well it was good for about 3 days before the same problem started creeping back, but now it's out of warantee. Won brothers will not replace or fix. Otherwise it's been a good unit. I also own a 200W pro-heat 1 which has been going well for 9 months, I'd recomend this one over the lcd model. They're both well designed, it's the quality control and customer service that are lacking.

"Set it and let it go."
This heater does a great job. Just have a digital thermometer to use in order to set. If the thermostats are off (which I have never had one that wasn't at least some) just set it manually. But the 2 that I have hold temperature within 2 tenths round the clock.

"Works Great for me"
I have used the original pro-heat heater for about 4-5 months now on my 125 gallon tank. I have been very pleased with the results. I have the heater under my tank in my sump and I place the temperature sensor directly in my tank. The temperature of my water is consistantly at 78.6 degrees. It never varies from that mark. As far as the temperature dial that is too easy to turn, I simply place a piece of ducktape over the dial and it is stuck in place. Simple problem with a simple solution. I cannot speak for the long term reliability of this heater, since I have used it for only about 4 months, but so far I have been very pleased.

"Straight ones on this garbage"
It's about three months after purchase and I just lost my tank. The digital readout said 132degrees when I woke up. The tank was actually 54 degrees. No heat all night = dead fish. I'm testing it further now and it seems that the digital readout goes up 1 degree at a time randomly and the heater never comes on.

"Heater has some quirks"
I bought this heater in March 2005 and it stoped working correctly in August 2005. I had to pay $10 plus shipping to have Won Bros fix the heater. Upon recieving my fixed heater it did not work correctly. I had to call Won Bros and recalibrate it over the phone. Now it is December 2005 and the heater will not turn one when the dial is turned to 92F unless the temp in the tank is less than 70F. I called Won Bros again and they told me to recalibrate the heater. It did not work. It turns on but only at low temps. After only 9 months of partial use it has broken twice. Won Bros will not replace the heater nor will they send me a refund. Watch out everyone This heater will get you and so will the customer service.

"Great Heater, ProHeat II"
This is a great heater and I love the concept of a thermostatically controlled heater with the control outside of the tank. I also like the LCD Digital display of the ProHeat II. I can check the temp from the other side of the room or simply when I am strolling by my aquarium.
The trick to this heater is to be careful! The adjustment dial is very sensitive and needs to be placed somewhere where it will not be 'bumped'. ALSO, be sure you place the temperature sensor AT LEAST 1 FOOT away from the heater module. This is very important!!
After I installed this heater I found out that the old adhesive 'on-tank' thermometers on my tank were both wrong. I bought a pair of new thermometers and discovered that my old thermometers were 4 degrees off! The ProHeat II actually helped me to discover this out and now I have no worries about the temp of my tank. This is a good product and can be found for about $35 on eBay.

"Nice Solid Heater!"
I've used different brands in the past, but thought I would give this titanium heater a go. Two great features stand out: 1. Unbreakable. 2. Adjustment knob is outside of tank. A friend keeps his under the substrate and said that the plants in that area of the tank have shown remarkable improvement since he's done that. So far temperature has remained stable. I see myself buying another in the near future.

"Oscar Proof"
We started with a name brand glass heater for the Oscar tank. We tried hiding it behind everything imaginable and the Oscars would still get to it and bang it around.
Finally the heater broke and we needed a new one. My LFS had a New heater in and it was suppose to be unbreakable.....I spent a little more for it and have been happy ever since. We don't hide the heater we just slap it in the tank. The Oscars have pulled it away from the suction cups, banged it around, and pulled on it, for the last 2.5 years. And the idea of putting the temp control dial on the plug end so you don't get your hands wet is amazing !!! I highly recommend this item..

I have the Pro-Heat II and am in love with this thing. Its so easy to give it a quick glance and see daily the tempurater has not changed. Not even in an a cold or warm house. The only down fall is the temp control needs to be guarded carefully. It reall hard to adjust it being that its so sensative to touch...myabe the third gen. should have a "clicking" knob selector instead of one that slides so easily. Other than that I love it. P.S. My cichs dug the rock out and collapsed them on top of the heater while I was at work. Thanks to its construction it didnt break..and the water temp didnt even change. Now thats QUALITY!

"Very good but had to reduce points due to setting knob"
I have a pair of the ProHeat heaters in my wet/dry sump. From installing them to setting the temp it is quite easy and the temperature is held rock steady.

I knocked this down a point or two due to the temperature knobs. They have no resistance and just touching them can change the temperature.

The ease of use had to be knocked down a touch as well since it was easy to set a Centigrade temperature but difficult to accurately set a Farenheit temperature.

"Super stable heating..."
My temp does not fluctuate at all with this heater. It is very stable. I don't have to worry about it shattering either. My only complaints are that the cord is too short and the suction cups are a poor design making it difficult to keep the heater stuck to my tank. But it is titanium so I have no worries about wedging it against a rock.

"Great Heater"
This is truely a great heater/thermometer combo, it's always been accurate to 1 degree. I can't say enough about them, good enough that I have one on my 44, 85 and 150 gallon aquarims! Get it and you won't regret it.

"Best heater I've owned"
I've went through 5 heaters in the past month. All of them just would not hold a temp. or would stop working after a week or two. I have had no problems with anything from this heater. the temp. stays right where you set it to. Even if the temp. out side of the tank is 20 degrees different. I would by another.

"Good Quality Heater"
I have various sizes of the Pro-Heat; ranging from 50W to 200W. The heating element and control seem to be of good build.

But I do have some minor issues with them. 1) The temp sensor and power chords seem a bit short. 2) The size of the heating element are 50-100% larger than the Jalli Titanium Heaters of the same wattage making concealing harder. 3) The controller unit is the size of a medium transformer block and can take up 3 slots on a power strip.

Otherwise, they have been keeping my tanks at a rock steady temp even when the room temp drops to the 60's in the winter.

"The Best"
I've had numerous heaters, including Ebo Jager. Nothing comes close to this for ease of use, and stable, accurate heat control. Simple to use. You set it at the desired temperature, and the the temp does not budge from that point. Plus the safety of no glass... you can't beat this heater.

The best thing since sliced bread! Just bought the 500W model for my 135g. show tank. I hid the heater behind some rocks and I don't have to worry about the rocks falling on it and breaking it. I mounted the control unit on the wall behind the tank so I can always tell if it is still in operation at a glance. Not to mention that you can't buy a glass heater this big. I have never rated a product so highly! Go get one for yourself!

I works great, blows glass heaters out of the water. I don't think I will ever buy a glass one again after buying this one. The only problem I have is the temp guage is 3 degrees off but, still better than one that dosen't have a temp guage.

"I think I purchased a lemon!"
I had all kinds of temperature problems. First the temperature control knob has no resistance so if your hand accidentally brushes against it or if a power cord rubs agaist it the knob can easily move ten degrees. This happened to me when I was cycling my tank. The temperature reached 96 degrees! This leads me to my second gripe. The specs. on it says it has a temperature range of 60-93 degrees. When I turned it down to the lowest setting the temperature only dipped to 80 degrees. In short, this heater is a bomb!!

"Top quality heater!!"
I picked up a pro heat 150watt about a week and a half ago. What an excellent heater! Off the adjustment module comes two seperate , equal length wires. Of of one wire is the heater tube. Off the other wire is the thermostst sensor w/ a little suction cup. i have the heater in the middle of the tank and the sensor in the top rear corner. i really like the thermostat option. My tank has been dead on 80 degrees ever since. This is the only brand heater i will ever buy again!
