"so so"
I saw the recommendation here and I went to get a 1/2 lb bag of Big Al's staple flakes. It turned out, it is not as attractive to fish as Nutrafin Max that I used before. My fish also tend to spit more. From my point of view, Big Al's flakes contain a higher portion of veggie flakes (green ones) than other brands. Even though all my fish are omnivorous, they still prefer meat to veggie. That's exactly what my neon tetras and angels do: leaving the green flakes sink to the bottom, until they're hungry again. My conclusion is: it's not so good for quality show fish.

"About the best bargain on the net!"
The best thing about this product is it's price! You just can't go wrong with this as a staple food source.

I use this mixed with other flakes for my basic diet plan for smaller cichlids and other dithers.

The flakes are good as they don't seem to break apart too easily compared with other brands.

"CHEAP!!! (in a good way)"
My fish seem to be doing fine on it, and when you can get a half pound for 3 bucks, how can you go wrong? I pay 5 times that at the LFS!
