"My greedy fry don't like it."
I tried to put the O. Lithobates fry that I'm growing out on this (they were on Omega One crushed flakes before)and needless to say they refuse to eat it. They rushed to the top of the tank for the Omega flakes.... for this stuff, they tried it and spit it right out. I tried going a day without feeding them and then tried to feed them this... same thing. I'm going to try the Cichlid Gold next.

"My fish wont touch it."
I like the hikari floating pellets however after feeding some other types of food for a while my fish just ignore this stuff. I have started using the gold as a staple food as my fish love it but still seem to hate the staple. I rated it very high for quality because it is a high quality food. It floats for a long time doesnt cloud the water. I just wish my fish would eat it.

This isn't as nutritious as Hikari's other products, but it makes for a great staple product to include in a varied diet of other foods. My chocolate cichlid eats this just as readily as any other food offered. Great value.

"Cichlid Gold is worth the extra couple bucks..."
Fish don't seem to like this pellet. I would suggest the Cichlid Gold since it is only a couple dollars more, and I have never had a fish reject the Gold....

"Great food very clean"
I bought this and right away after a few weeks I noticed my fish getting better all of the mbuna go for it and even my frontosa. The color got a lot better they no longer have spirulina spots. I love this food I really like floating foods just because I know when I've fed enough/too much and I used to use the tetra cichlid flake which I also liked but it seemed like some fish, even the same species) would get fat on it while others got super skinny so I switched. For a good sinking pellet trythe NLS cichlid pellet.

My Malawis won't touch it, neither will my calvus, compressicep (tough they eat towards the bottom of the tank), or my frontosa.

"second to Cichlid Gold"
I have no problems with this food but my kids like the Gold pellets better. I finally switched completely over because they wouldn't touch the Staple after supplementing them with Gold anf frozen/dried food. Might be the taste?

"Can't go wrong with hikari"
I mix the baby size of these with the gold line for my juvies. As always with Hikari the fish love them and show great color. They float forever so they're great for mbuna and haps. I never soak them, just throw them right in and have never had any problems. Best of all they're CHEAP!!

"A decent staple food"
My fish have been picky over this Hikari line compared to their other lines.

I do find that certain cichlids, obviously ones that strike at the surface will eat the pellets, but not all seem to be interested in them. My rivulatus does eat it but other surface eaters such as my Severums leave it alone.

"My fish have NOT been impressed..."
Yeah, you gotta soak these babies what seems forever to get 'em soft. Then you put 'The Product' in there, and observe a Lackluster response from usually, very hungry fish.

My fish definitely seem to prefer the more flavorful, 'specialty' products from Hikari over this 'middle-of-the-road' offering.

"Hmph"
I have mixed feelings about this product as do my cichlids. I just add a couple here and there to their flake food and they seem to eat them most of the time but, if you have small fish, they should be soaked prioir to feeding or someone isn't going to like you anymore.
