Designed for African Cichlids and other Rift Lake fish to build carbonate hardness (KH), raise and stabilize pH, and prevent pH drop. Also works well for many American Cichlids where native waters have pH values of 7.8 and above. Dissolves quickly with little or no precipitation. Does not contain nitrates or phosphates.
I, was havin trouble with my PH and Buffer capacities. I start using this product along with some other from Kent Marine and my fishes look more healthier and colorful. I, definately recommend this products to anyone. Great STUFF!
Kent is an excellent company, and you just can't go wrong with their products.
Their Cichlid buffer is no exception. Adding this product after a water change will keep your pH stable for a long time, even if you do not have any argonite or limestone. It's a must if you use RO/DI water like I do.
It doesn't dissolve very easily though, so adding directly to the tank isn't ideal. It is best to mix it in a bucket.
I love this product. Although I have been having trouble finding a more except for online. So I looked at kents website and they have a Liquid Malawi and a Liquid Tanganyikan buffer now.
has used this product for 1-3 Months.

"A good choice for buffering capabilities"
I used this product initially and found it worked well in keeping the pH buffered. I ended up rocking the tank with alot of texas holey rock (limestone) which keeps my pH high naturally so I don't use this product anymore.
Still I'd recommend it to others that need to keep their pH higher and stable.
We are very happy with the Kent products, we have only been using them for a few months now but have noticed that they keep our water very stable.... it took us a few tries (in a bucket) to get the formula right, we use the AF Cichlid Chemistry and AF Cichlid Buffer together, we treat the water for water changes to match the tanks GH, KH.
This product rules. What else can I say. The alternative is using baking soda which works just as well and is slightly cheaper but the contents of this product are salts and designed for cichlids. Easy to use, I don't even measure anymore because I do it every water change, just shake a little in and the PH stays stable at 8.0+ from my 7.0-7.2 tap water. One container last a long time too making this an effective and good value product.
I use the kent cichlid buffer along with their cichlid chemistry, and trace elements. my water parameters are always dead on and my fish have awesome colors. some users go w/ the baking soda and epsom salt method, but i prefer the kent stuff. it has always worked for me.
I bought it when starting my setup. It has worked great but will be using Epsom salt and baking soda after its finished To save some Money! They will do the same job in maintaning the buffering capacity plus will help in water hardness!
