Product Description:
Repashy Superfoods Shrimp SouffleMeal Replacement Gel for Scavengers.

This fresh and saltwater "scavenger formula" is an omnivore formula specifically designed for aquatic and semi-aquatic invertebrates and mollusk eaters. Shrimp Souffle is high in calcium, and has double the carotenoid levels of the other Repashy Gel formulas to provide essential nutrients for a strong exoskeleton and great coloration. Omnivorous species of shrimps, crabs, and crayfish, as well as many species of loaches have an extremely high attraction to mollusks, therefore whole squid (a mollusk) is the primary ingredient in this formula to maximize palatability. It has moderate levels of proteins from a combination of algae, aquatic animals, green plants, and yeast to replicate the diverse diet of scavenging species. Shrimp Souffle is also ideal for omnivorous species, particularly as a color enhancer because of its higher carotenoid levels.

Makes up to 1 cup of finished gel per ounce of premix. Great for Omnivorous Fish. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. Freeze for up to 6 months! Made in USA.

"Different, but fish seem to love it!"
I have recently prepared my first batch of Shrimp Souffle. Thanks, Allen, for making samples available to CF moderators! I found the food easy to prepare, and contrary to some other reports, my fish go for the stuff like no tomorrow!

The only fry I have right now are Frontosa (Burundi), and Julidochromis marlieri 'Gombe'. Even the smallest Juli fry nibble away on the gel cubes like it's the best thing they ever tasted. After a day, the Frontosa fry looked like they were some kind of balloon variety! Another thing I noticed was that my Synodhontis lucipinnis went absolutely crazy over the gel! I have never seen them go for any other food quite like this. But even other adult fish seemed to eat more than they would if I put NLS pellets into the tank, which is what my fish usually get. I guess for fry the more they eat, the faster they'll grow, but for adult fish one will have to be careful not to overfeed!

Making the gel is no big deal, but of course feeding pellets is still more convenient. I can't see myself switching from NLS entirely, but as an occasional treat and as a convenient food source for small fry, I think I am always going to keep some Repashy Gel Food handy!

"A versatile food well beyond its name. The high carotenoids and palatability really make this diet."
I am an invertebrate breeder and importer, so this diet was of utmost interest to me. What I did not expect was it's unparalleled palatability for my "community" fish and catfish. I use this as my predominant diet for all mixed species tanks. From tetras, to cories, to shrimp, to carnivorous catfish they all relish it's flavor. Heavy in squid and krill, it covers all the bases. The added carotenoids are a nice enhancement of color. It seems, in my opinion, to be the most versatile and palatable of the Repashy fish foods. I have even had dario species eat it, which otherwise will usually only go for live foods.

"Repashy gel foods are fantastic!"
When I received my first box of this food, I was unsure if I would like it. The food is easy to mix up and the fish take to it immediately. Being able to feed enough to let an entire tank of fish get full, without anyone looking bloated or stressed is a very nice change. The Shrimp Souffle is used for all of my inverts with great success.

The smell when you mix it up can be a little strong, but that smell seems to also draw the fish to it. I have had damaged fins grow back on older fish that I thought were beyond repair after starting this food. I highly recommend it!
