"Excellant pump"
This pump will supply all the air most will require. Well made. I"ve had mine a long time with no failure. It does put out quite abit of heat.Make sure it is in a ventilated area where heat will not be a problem

"Much better than any diapham pump."
They will run about 12 to 15 shallow tanks.I would not say they are silent but not bad in a fish room.

"don't waste your time on plastic"
I replaced two large double outlet plastic air pumps with one of the large luft pumps. All of the "box" pumps are pretty much the same. On a whim I tried the luft and it is just great. Mine runs 4 undergravel filter tubes and a very large air stone and does very well. A little noiser than the "box" pumps but, not overly annoying.

"Hot and a bit smelly"
I purchased the smaller model (4 outlets) and it ran really hot, no way could I keep it under my tank during the summer months. Plus I know this is going to sound weird but it smelled very strongly of bactine (the antiseptic), that's the closest I can describe it. My guess is I received a defective model so I returned it. I was really hoping this would be the multi-tank solution but unfortunately it didn't work out.
