Product Description:
Aquarium Pharmaceuticals PimaFixTreats fungal infections.

Treats both internal and external bacterial infections.

PimaFix has been formulated to work in combination with MelaFix to enhance effectiveness against fish diseases.

PimaFix is a natural botanical remedy made from Pimenta racemosa (West Indian Bay) oil, providing unique active compounds, which harmoniously work together to attack fish diseases. The active compounds found in Pimenta racemosa not only provide many different modes of action, but also eliminate the possibility of the development of resistant strains of disease-causing organisms. Until now, most antifungal medications resulted in unsightly water discoloration throughout the course of therapy.

PimaFix does not have this disadvantage, providing better viewing of fish during treatment. Treating with PimaFix will not harm the biological filter in freshwater or saltwater aquariums or ponds. PimaFix has no effect on pH. PimaFix is harmless to aquatic plants.

In extreme cases of especially stubborn infections, PimaFix has been designed to work synergistically with MelaFix. Using PimaFix and MelaFix together provides the added benefit of quick tissue regeneration and wound healing.

PimaFix Directions for Use:

Shake well before each use.
For best results remove activated carbon during treatment.
As a disease treatment: Add 1 tsp for every 10 gallons (40L) of aquarium water.
Repeat dose daily for 7 days. Treatment may be continued, if necessary.

* Whenever treating with any medication, we suggest performing a 25-50% water change every three days depending on the organic load in water.

"This stuff rocks!"
I use Pimafix all the time and it is good stuff. When used in conjunction with Melafix the two can solve most minor problems with fungus and bacteria. The all natural aspect really appeals to me, as most fish meds are hard on fish. There is nothing out there I would rather use on a regular basis other than these two products!

"Fastest anti-fungal medication"
A common problem I have with my bettas is the white/grey fungus growing on their fins. This has by far been the fastest cure of anything I have tried (salt bath, maroxy, etc..). The fungus was completely gone within 2 days.

This stuff works great when you have a minor fungal infection and you don't want to bring out the "big guns" such a Maracyn. It works great in conjunction with Melafix and is just as safe and mild on the fish as Melafix. One of the only things I don't like about it is that as far as I know, there isn't a pond formula like there is for Melafix, so it's not economical to use on a big tank.

"Not bad"
I've only used Pimafix (in conjuction with Melafix) once when I had a goldfish with a broken tail (torn tissue, bone sticking out, tail flopping around: pretty nasty).

Within a week, the fish's tail was completely healed and he was swimming like nothing had happened.

However, like Melafix, it is not a true antibiotic or fungicide. I would only rely on it to help wounds heal quickly and prevent infection. I would NOT use it to treat a full blown infection.
