"Expensive quality."
This "ball" can easily be placed to put water movement just about anywhere in your tank. The socket stays put on the glass perfectly due to the 4 eheim suction cups. In conjunction with an eheim ball joint i can get water anywhere from any point.
For the price point it doesnt move as much water as powerheads from other brands (It's also larger than the ones that move this amount of water).
However, how many other powerheads can be turned into internal filtration? None that I am aware of.
If you've got the money or just want something that is really well built this is the powerhead for you.

"Too expensive"
The Aquaball is a good quality product. But its not a good product in my opinion. It's simply too big for what it does. The whole thing, from the huge intake to the huge ball socket to the huge suction cup assembly just screams 'look over here!'

To me the hardware in a tank should be utilitarian. You want to see the fish not the filters. These are just too big and without the power to justify their size. I don't find them any quieter than other powerheads of comparable output personally..

"Eheim Quality"
Very quiet. Excellent design allows you to aim just about anywhere. Not as much power as some of the other brands, but I was just looking for somthing to eliminate the deadspots in my planted setup. Satisfied

"Very dissapointed"
Purchased simply to move water. I tried 2 and had to return both. The first one was loud and had a vibrating sound. The second one was simply loud. I purchased a Marineland Maxi-jet, I can't hear it operating at all.

"Very good; and quiet"
Very good power head for circulation. It would be nice if they would make one for 300 gph, but the nice thing about this one is the fact that it can be positioned at just about water level, which helps oxygenate the water and get the "gunk" off the surface. I had a Marineland 550 before; which was nice; but the jet had to be pointed up to agitate the surface.

"Hung Jury"
The jury is still out on this product. The design is solid, and it is very quiet(no vibration at all). However, for water movement and aeration, it doesn't hang. Not even close.

"fantastic!"
typical of recent eheim products this combines huge levels of quality and innovation. this is the best eheim product since the pro range of external filters.

it comes with a sturdy mounting bracket that lets you place the flow virtually anywhere -great for reef tanks, or pointing across the substrate as a cheap and easy version undergravel jets

an adaptor set is availible so accept any hose so you can use it in any way you can dream of.

also the strainer on the intake is big so it will rarely block.

the mounting bracket is a little bulky but features four stong suckers, so your cichlids won't be knocking it off in a hurry.

it has a built in venturi and if you place the output just below the surface and activate the venturi, the aeration is incredible.

buy one with confidence - it comes with a 3 year warentee!!!
