"Cheap enough to buy multiples"
These units are inaccurate and unreliable yet so cheap that you can just by more then one to make sure. I've seen them off as much as 4 degrees, so you may be taking your best guess.

"Registers changes in temperature"
I've always found these units to be just a bit off because of the placement of the number (temperature) scale. Once you know how much its off, you can deal with it and simply watch for changes up or down.

"Cheap and they work."
These things are dirt cheap. Stick it where you want it in the aquarium and your done. My only problem with them is in some cases the printout is hard to read. This is easy to cure since you can see them in the pack before buying them.
