Black Diamond Premium Activated Carbon eliminates discoloration, odors, and impurities...and keeps on doing it long after other carbons quit.
Heat-activated bituminous coal-based Black Diamond granules are specially sized and far more efficient than inferior coconut, wood or peat-based carbons. Premium Black Diamond works as much as twice as fast as the competition.
I like to put it in the extra media trays I bought for my Penguin. The carbon seems a bit more dense, and has more surface area in this pelleted form.
-Oops the Carbon I have is when it was named Magnum carbon

Black Diamond is a great carbon BUT I think it worked better when it was called Magnum Carbon. This Black Diamond is a little too small as it seems to tear up my magnum impellers because it's brittle enough at the smaller size to get thru the carbon container. The Magnum never did because of it larger size.So I guess if your Marineland and need to sell more magnets and impellers then this size works well for the company

I love marinelands black diamond carbon. I dont use carbon much, but when I do, its this kind that I look for.
Best carbon out there, run it on my emperors and in bags in my Aquaclears. Polishes the water like no other.

"You get what you pay for!"
I only use this carbon as it is PHOSPHATE FREE. Cheaper carbon an charcoal are not as effective, so why waste your money. I find it on sale online all the time....

"IMO over priced"
Its ok like most carbon, but i find its way over priced for the work it does, so i started buying carbon in pellet size by the cubic foot, so much cheaper and of the same quality, not to mention small carbon gets in your impellers, depending on what filter system you have...
very economical. although i think seachems Matrix carbon and two little fishes hydro carbon seem better, they are very expensive and the differance isnt very big. it is extreamly economical! a 68 oz. jar (4.25 lbs) last me over a year!

"The best carbon on the market!"
I don't normally run carbon in my filters but when I do, this is the stuff I turn to. It works very well and is not as dusty as other brands.
