Comments:
Melanochromis melanopterus is a common, aggressive rocky shore mbuna, that feeds opportunistically, but is particularly specialized as a predator on fry and young cichlids. It appears all over Lake Malawi, except for Mbenji and Maleri. Males are usually black and blue, females are brown.
