Overlooked Labidochromis Caeruleus

Postby jpbdh4 » Wed Sep 11, 2019 12:48 am

My wife said to me the other day... "when did that Lab grow up? Kind of a chunker" Honestly he's been overlooked as it's been an O.G. tank mate and always just 'there'. Never really changes / muddies up in the face etc. Had one before in my first tank and it never sized up like this one. I enjoy the hobby but not super deep in the specifics, so my question(s):

Would he be considered a typical full size male?
Good looking or meh? (won't hurt my feelings)

I'd say he's 4.5 inches long no question, and definitely plump... wider than all the other peacock / hap mates, and probably matches the redfin borleyi at it's widest point. Hard to accurately guess the height but body only (no fins) the same as the Otopharynx lithobates.

That's a fairly nice looking Lab; are you sure it is a male. Labs are monomorphic.
