New 75g filtration question

Postby nqsc » Mon Jan 07, 2019 3:52 pm

Hi gang. New to the forum as well as cichlids. Been reading as much as I can on here lately. Anyway, I'm setting up a 75g (rectangle) and currently have my hands on an eheim 2217 as well as a penguin Biowheel 350 hob. Is this enough filtration? Tia!

It may be enough filtration depending on your stocking level of fish though more details on what you are planning would be helpful.

Sorry, I was planning on going with 12-15 mostly peacock / hap with maybe a few yellow labs and a pleco. Thoughts?

A friend advised me to ditch the hob, and run 2 cannisters. So I figured I'd ask the experts over here! Thanks

I have run H-O-B in combination with canister - I think you are fine either way if it matches the fish quantity/sizes.

+1. Lots of folks here run dual canisters, but lots also run canister + HOB. So long as you're getting the 8x-10x/hr recommended turnover, I think you're fine.
