What size of pellets do you feed your fish?

Postby Luvindaspurs » Thu May 10, 2018 4:30 pm

I'm currently doing 2mm sinking pellets with northfin but just curious to see what others do. Thinking about going to 3mm. I have some fattys who are smaller (2-3 inches)who tend to eat more than there fair share and some larger ones who don't quite seem to get enough sometimes. Just curious to get some thoughts and input on this.

I use sizes from 0.5 to 4 mm Northfin. If I need different sizes in the same tank I tend to put the larger ones in first and then smaller hoping the large fish have had their fill and will leave smaller ones for the little guys.

I feed pellets from 1 mm to 6 mm for the larger fish
I find that larger fish really struggle with small pellets so it is easier for them to grab a larger pellet rather than try and grab a bunch of smaller pellets
This is especially true for larger Haps like the Aristochromis Chrysti, who have very large mouths
