Anyone here have any experience about Starry Dwarf cichlids?

Postby cichlidluvr82 » Sat Feb 10, 2018 1:18 am

Just wondering if anyone here owns or breeds starry dwarf cichlids aka zebra acaras? I'm asking because I ordered one from liveaquaria's divers den. I've read lots of info saying they are peaceful and great for any tropical community aquarium and I hope that is true. I thought that about rainbow cichlids too and I had to rehome here because she was harassing my entire tank! I have been wanting one of these for months and I spent $80 so I really hope it's peaceful in my tank. Anyone with experience please chime in!!!!

No experience with these guys, but if they don't work out and you're looking for a cichlid that really does work well in a community tank, I'd highly recommend Keyholes.
60g 1 Gold Severum, 1 Electric Blue Acara, 1 Platinum Angel, 1 Firemouth, 4 Rainbow cichlid, 10 Tiger Barbs, 1 BN pleco, 1 ABN pleco
10g German Blue Ram pair
3.5g Male Betta, Dwarf Cory cat
3.5g Male Betta
All tanks have MTS and Assassin snails

I've got a very small young keyhole in my community tank, along with a Cupid cichlid and a tiny female apistogramma. No issues. My other baby keyhole died, along with my male apisto. Not from aggression, their deaths were unexplained. But I've been wanting a starry dwarf cichlid and paid $80. It's captive bred. So I really hope it works out because I have no room for anymore tanks. I've got 6 in my room.
