I have a 29 Gallon bow front with some stacked river rocks and a nice cave.
Would a pair, or maybe more then a pair thrive in this tank?

They would be fine. I would go with more than a pair though. They are a school fish and do much better in larger numbers. I would do no less then six.

I kept a group of 7 in a 36"x12"x15" for some time.
They even bred in that tank.
I did move em on to a bigger tank as the male got bigger than 41/2".

Nice to give em a overhang as they like to hide upside down under it and I think show better colours under subdued lighting/darker places in the tank.

Carefull with tank mates if any. They are easily bullied and tend to jump out a lot.

All the best James

Since this is a 29G bowfront (I think from another post) it may not be 36" long. What are the dimensions?
