Difference between Chindongo Saulosi & msobo magunga female

Postby Dutchfreak » Sat Jul 17, 2021 10:53 am

Hi All,

Sorry if my English is bad but i would like to ask something. A while ago I've added some Saulosi to my species tank. Recently the males started to coloring up and i find out it was a hybrid with i believe msobo magunga... :(
I'm pissed off because i have some nice F2 Saulosi swimming in that tank for years and i don't want to create new hybrids..

is there any way i can distinguish these 2 species? The Females looks the same imo..

It's subtle, probably easier to tell in groups. If the females were hybrid, would be hard to know sure. Just have to be observant.

Msobo females seem to be a little more orange, Saulosi a little more deep yellow. Msobo grow larger, and their body seems slightly longer. Always thought Saulosi look sort of a shorter rounder body than a Zebra. The face, mouth, and body of Msobo is slightly more like a Zebra complex.
