Stupid question: Will Apisto's live with mbuna? Apisto's eat shrimp and stuff so I don't know if they'll eat the food I give my mbuna's. I don't have an aggressive tank now, everyone is quite mellow.

No, no, a thousand times no. Too many reasons for why this is a really bad idea to even list.

HARD NO. Do not even test it out to see if it works. No mbuna is "mellow" enough to live nicely with apistos. As mentioned, the list of reasons why it's a no is lengthy, but the only real reason that needs to be made perfectly clear is that your mbuna will terrorize and kill apistos.
