Lake Malawi Species • Cichlid Popeye - Is the fish now blind?

Hi All,

I needed some help, I have a fish who had one cloudy eye. I then quarantined the fish and treated with Melafix and Pimafix as I noticed some white on the fin and it wasn’t using the fin.

This treatment last 7 days and both eyes had a white/grey substance all over them. I then switched treatment to Interpret Internal Parasite and First Aid Salt. We are now on day 10 and the eyes are clearing up but I can no longer see eyeballs.

Has the eye burst and is the fish blind and hence not eating? It is a lovely fish and I’m sad to see it like this.
