I know that some females might have egg spots, has anyone seen a male without them? The dominant make always seems to have more than the others, is this true?
No, egg spots are just a secondary sexual characteristic; they are not linked genetically to the complex behaviors that comprise dominance and aggression.
Here is the thing, Peacocks describes many species, and many hybrids as well. Many of these Aulonocara, pure species peacocks, generally do not have egg spots, as adult dominant males. Then there are species where dominant males, almost always have egg spots.... so it really depends on what you mean, by "peacocks".
