My female Yellow Lab is mouth brooding right now

Postby shealee44 » Tue Mar 10, 2020 11:00 pm

My female yellow lab is mouth brooding right now and I want the frye. I’m gonna get a isolation area for her tomorrow but I wanna know how to easily catch her and put her somewhere else without stressing her?

Remove all the rocks and drain 1/2 of the water and use 2 large nets.

Wait 7 days after she starts holding until you move her. You can wait up to 18 days.

And make sure you remove her as soon as you can after she spits out the fry.

The net I use most is not my large ones...it is the medium ones, but loooooooooooong handles are key. Four-six inches for the net part.

Fine mesh so you can catch fry if necessary.
