Venting Question

I have never vented before but tried this evening two rostratus at 6-7 inches. Measured bigger than I thought out of water. Please let me know your opinions. Based on my readings on this site I believe I have a female and a male. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance

I am fairly confident the bottom picture is a female, but the top one has me confused. Compared to the bottom pic it looks different.
