Small saulosi colony tank size?

Postby Lloydminster » Sun Sep 15, 2019 12:49 am

I have a group of 7 juvie saulosi that i am looking at keeping in a basically species only tank, there are also 2 dwarf petricola in the tank. Currently they are in a 20 gallon which I intend to use in future for fry only. I wanted a 40 gallon breeder for these guys however I am having a tough time locating one where as I am finding unreal deals on 55 gallon tanks. Should I hold out and buy a 40 breeder or just purchase a good used 55 set up.

If you get a 55G you will want a couple more saulosi (shoot for 12 after removing extra males), but they definitely are cheaper and will give you more options in the future.

Plan on buying just the tank used and go for new equipment such as filters.
