I need help in determining the cichlid sex.Any tips?

These are Malawian cichlids.

Venting is the best method to determine gender, and there are articles on this in the library.

With labs I like to let them grow and only remove problem fish. Watching them spawn (with eggs that develop into fry) will eventually give you the answer.

You don't want to try for a pair since they are harem breeders. Odds are with 8 of them you will get at least 1 male and at least 1 female.
