Fish with mistaken identity

Postby Halfcopy » Sat Oct 06, 2018 6:29 pm

Hi y'all. I have a cyp. zonatus that thinks he's an Eretmodus. He sleeps with him in he same cave, he feeds around the tank dragging his belly in the sand, he even scoops up a mouth full of sand and the rocks as the gobie works around the tank. He flashes for him, even lays on his side fins erect like he wants to breed lol it's the darndest thing I've ever seen. There's 30 other cups in there and he has nothing to do with them. he's I believe fully transpecies lol. Anyone ever have a fish do this? It's rather comical to watch them work the tank together the Eretmodus seems completely happy not bothered in the least by it.
