Stocking for 85gallon/320L

Postby riana_jasmine » Mon Aug 13, 2018 10:34 pm

Hi there!

I was wondering what people consider to be the ideal number of fish in an 85 gallon/320 litre tank? Lake Malawi, specifically Mbuna only. I already have two Labidochromis caeruleus, and will be getting another 2-3. After a range of colours.

TIA. :)

What are the shape and dimensions of the tank? In general, we stock by length not gallons.

Thanks for the quick reply DJ, it's 48/18/27" or 122/47/70cm.

If you are doing mixed gender mbuna in a 48x18 I like 4 species with 1m:4f of each (depending on the species you choose).

Stick to fish that mature <= 6 inches.
