Filtration 120USG

Postby Stevehale » Sun Sep 01, 2019 8:50 am

Hi there

Just wondering what people’s views are. I’m looking at starting a 450 litre tank (120 USG I believe). My question is what do you prefer , 1 big filter , for example FX4. Or two smaller ones , for example 2X 407’s?. I’m only using Fluval filters as an example as I’ve used them the most in the past.

I was just thinking if a filter went down , having two there’s still filtration. That said I hear great things about the FX4. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers Steve

Or does it need more ?. I hear ten times some places , but double up on recommendations others. I’m well prepared to go 2X FX4 if it’s needed

I like two smaller ones...for me it is 2 XP4 Rena Filstar filters on the 125G tank.

I even have 2 on the 75G tanks...each filter is just smaller.

So looking at the performance of those Rena Filstars(never seen these in the UK) , to get that in Fluval , it’s really 2xFX4’s then.
