Coralife light issues

Postby Mudkicker1 » Wed Aug 28, 2019 10:04 pm

I have a Coralife 48" dual T5 ballast. It got really really hot and shut off. I changed both tubes and its working now. Can old tube cause overheating?

Yes. Older tubes require higher current to ignite. This will cause the ballast to overheat. The new lamps will let the ballast run cooler and are also going to be brighter and more energy efficient. Ideally you should replace the tubes annually.
