When I had my 125g I used a Koralia Evo 750 and 1050 with my FX5 and spaybar. The spraybar rolled front to back and the Koralias pushed in a circular flow.

Plenty of circulation and surface agitation.

Not really possible to answer without more information. What is the main filtration in the tank? It is quite possible to run a tank with no powerheads.
