Fluval 304 leaking

Postby Not_sosoes » Thu Jan 31, 2019 10:13 am

I did the monthly maintenance on my Fluval 304 yesterday and awoke to a leak underneath it. Did a quick check and could not feel any moisture around the housing seal area but didn't have time to inspect fully..It is not a big leak but a leak none the less.

The filter is probably 10-12 years old but works fine.

Anyone have suggestions as to what I might try to fix this? My initial thoughts were to replace the rubber seal ring gasket that fits around the housing. Thinking maybe the age of it has caused the leak.

open to suggestion..?

I think your headed in the right direction. You may want to contact Fluval’s customer service as I’ve found them very helpful.

Check the seals, replace as needed. You can apply some Vaseline to them to stop the leak while you wait for replacements.
