Frozen pellet food longevity

Hi,

I've found an old airtight container of NLS cichlid pellets in my freezer. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how long pellet food lasts in the freezer? The food is not freezer burnt...

Thanks!

If it is more than 3 to 6 months old I would not use it; google shelf life of frozen foods...

How do the pellets smell when you open them? If they still smell fresh, try feeding a few pellets and see how the fish react. Also check the expiration date on the food if there is one.

I buy NLS in buckets and store it in my freezer without any issues, just removing some product to smaller containers to feed the fish room.

The pellets smell "normal", and the fish seem to eat them... I've been mixing them into the diet a bit here and there.
