Oscar Tank Mate

Postby PJLH » Fri Nov 30, 2018 9:42 pm

Hey Everyone! I'm new to the forum.

I am getting a 150 gallon tank and am planning on making a "Snow White" Cichlid the star of the tank. My life loves the Oscars we have in our other tank, and is wondering if we could add a pair of Oscars to the 150 gallon as well. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Mbuna and Oscars wouldn't make good tank mates. The snow whites could bully the Oscar to death when they're smaller, once the Oscar gets big the snow whites could end up being dinner.

If you're set on snow whites, the best tank mates would be other mbuna.

Diet and water requirements are quite different for each species. Also a pair of adult Oscars can make a 150g look very small all on their own
1500 gallons of South and Central American cichlids. Some with a "wee" bit of attitude.
