Wild type (normal) Oscars?

Postby T_Waters » Wed Aug 08, 2018 2:36 pm

Is there anywhere to buy by mail normal colored Oscars that are not wild but in fact are tank raised? Years ago this was very possible.

We want that color of oscar but not a wild one because they are said to be more likely aggressive and needing narrower water parameters (i.e. less tolerant to temperature and pH differences from normal).

Well I guess tame tank raised generations of wild colored Oscars are no longer a staple in the aquarium hobby, but are in fact not to be found except rarely. That's a shame because it used to rule the local fish stores.
