I got this guy from a random person off Craigslist I ho didn’t know anything about him. He looks to be a Sonoran cichlid (green guapote). But I’m not sure. Everything i know about sonorans is that they’re extremely agressive and don’t get along with hardly anything but this guy hangs out with my red head most of the time. Just trying to figure out what he might be and propped care.

I don't have a species ID, but you should know that geos really need a sand substrate. They are designed to sift food particles from sand and may injure themselves trying to sift gravel. They also do best in groups.

It is definitely NOT beani, the Green Guapote. To me it more closely resembles Rheoheros lentiginosus, which is a species of fast moving waters. They need high O2 in the water and cooler tanks.

I know. I got him on because it was one of those mislabeled fish that’s too cheap not to get but I’m setting up a 90 for him and my eupterus should be ready this weekend.

The other guy actually started to change colors. He’s showing more gold now.
