Testing dithers?

Postby CaptMicha » Sun Nov 26, 2017 4:51 pm

Is there a safe way to test the likelihood of a dither species able to survive with cichlids?

I was thinking about putting my female mosquito fish in with my guianacara stergiosi bc they're shy since I removed my two small rainbow cichlids (the stergiosi gave both of them a nasty bite where they kept rebiting the same spot, so I had to pull them), but I really don't want them killed.

I have a group of 3 juvie stergiosi, the largest is about 3".

I need to set up a 55 gallon (and then larger shortly after so I can keep them with my rainbows again) for them, but in the meantime they're in a 29 gallon. Less than density planted bc I can only have plants where the roots are protected by rocks they can't move.
