Synodontis Multipunctatus with my Cichlids

Postby kirkw12 » Wed Aug 17, 2016 11:17 am

Hey everyone. I have a 120g 5ft tank stocked with 5 species of mbuna. I wanted add some Synodontis Multipunctatus cats so I purchased 3 yesterday. Do you think 3 is a large enough group or should I add more? They are just so expensive. Thanks

I have 6 in my tank and many will say minimum is 3. I would shoot for 5 if you have the budget for it. They like to be in groups.

Ok. My lfs has them for $25 each but I found them online at imperial tropics for $11.99. If I spend $45 I'll get free shipping. Would I be ok ordering 4 from them giving me 7 total?

You have a pretty good sized tank and it should be fine. How many mbunas you have now?

I currently have 10 maingano, 10 albino socolofi, 8 acei, 8 rustys, and 8 yellow labs. They are all juvies and as they mature I plan to weed out some to get a good m/f ratio.

Five is ideal...don't go over 7.
