Can Clown loaches live together with juvenile African Cichlids? I have a couple that are about 1 1/2 - 2" (loaches) Has anyone had success? I keep reading mixed answers on other pages - Thanks Julie

Can they? Yes. Many have had success and many would not do it. I am in the second group.

Yes, they can. You'd find that the Africans won't even notice the loaches. My clowns were raised with fully-grown haps when they were tiny, and now they're about five inches. Just make sure the pH isn't too high for the loaches, because they won't cope with 8 or above. Mine are at 7.3-7.4, which the Africans are fine with. It's a good compromise between the two.
