Postby omac84 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 1:20 pm

So the wife and I are planning a trip to Lake Malawi and I was wondering if anyone else has actually been there?

Really? Thats awesome!! I love all africans, but honestly if i was gonna spend the money and make the trip then i would do lake victoria. The Tanganyikans my personal favorite but you need a certain appreciation of the tanganyikans to enjoy them. The Victorians however are in trouble. There is a boatload of reading that you can do as far as what's going on with lake victoria, but long story short, the lake is in trouble and there are fish there that you may not be able to see much longer so I would suggest taking advantage of it while you can. Not to mention the Victorians are beautiful anyway. Don't get me wrong they trip to Lake Malawi would be awesome but this is just my two cents

There would probably be more restrictions and red tape involved with gaining access to victoria anyway. Have fun. Look forward to the pics

Are you going with the Stuart Grant tour group? I've heard reports from a couple of people who have done that...also Lake Tanganyika. Nothing recent though.
