Lowering Temperature
Best way to lower the temperature? Current reading is approximately 80F. I was thinking that around 76F would be best.

To be honest for most fish, 80 is perfectly fine. If you really want it lowered, make sure you turn your heater down, and make sure the room temperature is 76 or lower too. Then turn on a fan so it'll blow right across the surface. This will cause a lot of evaporation but it'll cool pretty fast.
