Raising shrimp to feed cichlids
I was contemplating raising some shrimp to give my haps and peacocks the occasional treat. Anyone else do this? What type of shrimp would you recommend? Would something like a scud be better?

Would you recommend doing that or just stick to frozen every once in awhile. Is it more trouble than it’s worth?

Do you think there might be any benefit to triggering their hunting instinct?

I don't think there is a benefit to feeding anything other than an excellent staple food. Do it for the fun of the fishkeeper if you want to raise the shrimp.
