Unidentified Cichlids • What cichlid is this and is it male or female?

I'm new to the forum, so I'm hoping my image posts correctly! Thanks for any help you can offer on identifying this newbie. In my brief online searches, I'm concerned this may be a Texas cichlid, which is anticipated to become much larger than I expected.

At first glance I want to say Jack Dempsey juvenile (i.e., unsexed). Not quite as big as a Texas, but they do get good size.
