Is daily 1% to 2% water change ok?

Postby Ali1980 » Thu Jul 22, 2021 1:57 am

I have many plants so I water them from my tank 4 liters daily and add 5 liters back fresh water. Is that ok ?
It’s a grow out tank 55galkon with 14 juveniles 3cm to 5cm

Sure!
Daily water changes won't hurt a thing in an aquarium. Your fish may appreciate the small dilution effect of Nitrate buildup in the water, and your plants will definitely appreciate getting some aquarium water with a little fish waste fertilizer in it. :)
You should get a Nitrate test kit, and measure out the levels in your aquarium. If you are keeping things in that tank below a measured 20 PPM Nitrate level? You're doing good!
But, if organic waste/toxins are building up in the aquarium to measured Nitrate levels above 20 PPM, you will definitely have to raise the frequency and percentage of water changes, to dilute the Nitrates out of the water in your tank.
