UNS 75p stocking

Postby nzen111 » Fri Feb 12, 2021 2:16 am

I'm considering buying a uns 75p which holds 36 gallons with dimensions of 30 by 18 by 18. I know I want a school of 6-8 paracyps in it as well as 6-8 alto comp sumbu shells. Will that be a good stocking? If it is possible, I may also try to add 4-5 multies or similis. Hopefully the sumbu shells can manage their populations to a good amount.

Instead of multies or similis, I'm also open to adding a pair or two of brevis or calliurus if I can find them although its not a must have

If you want that many species you would be better off buying a 55G which is 48x12.

In a 30 inch tank maybe the paracyps and the one of these (sumbu, multies, similis).

I would also choose one shell dwelling species even in a 55G.
125G Borleyi, Multipunctata
75G Demasoni, Msobo, Lucipinnis
75G Calvus, Similis, Petricola

Even though Paracyps are very peaceful, I wouldn't keep more than one male in a 30" tank.

In that case, I'll probably keep it to just the sumbu and paracyps. How many of each do you recommend? I might upgrade the tank in the future and put something else in but I'll see how this setup works for now.
